It is important to compare the characteristics of COPD patients diagnosed in older ages with youngers to break the stereotype that AATD is a condition attributed to young COPD patients and to increase the rate of diagnosis at older ages. Therefore, cross-sectionally designed EARCO-aging study aims to evaluate the clinical characteristics as well as disease severity of COPD patients with AATD, by combined initial COPD assessment, according to their age at diagnosis by focusing on the group diagnosed at elderly.
